Benny is a graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music, Leeds College of Music and the Univeristy of Leeds studying under John Gough, Murray McLachlan and Dame Fanny Waterman. He has appeared in the masterclasses led by internationally renowned pianists and teachers including Bernard Roberts, Joan Havill, William Westney and Alexander Melikov.
Benny also enjoys a busy performing career in England. He has given recitals and chamber concerts in all the major UK cities. In 2006, Benny gave three All-Mozart Recitals in celebration of Mozart’s 250th anniversary. Benny has a great interest in mixed media performing arts and in 2006 he was the Musical Director for Hoo Haah Production Company's national tour 'Night Piece' - A deconstruction of Chopin Nocturnes. In 2009, Benny and Duo partner Ying-ying Han (Cello) gave a recital in aid of the Tyddyn Bach Trust. They were interviewed by BBC Radio Manchester for their charity work and their performance of ‘Mu Ge’ (Chinese Folk Song: Shepherd’s Song) was broadcast by the BBC.
